Technology Council for Advanced Materials 

  

On June 25th the Technology Council for Advanced Materials gathered for the second meeting since its establishment in 2024. It marks another milestone for implementing the EU’s Strategy on Advanced Materials for Industrial Leadership. The Council is actively working on the 14 European Commission actions, as well as on the upcoming Advanced Materials Act. 

High-level representatives from the European Commission (DG GROW, DG RTD and DG COMP), Member States, academia & industry, and associated countries to Horizon Europe participated in this meeting.      DHFERIS, DETE and Enterprise Ireland represent Ireland’s interest in the Council. The discussions focused on the key areas of AI in materials science, international cooperation, the Advanced Materials Act, uptake and deployment of advanced materials and the expansion of the current industry priorities to Advanced Materials for medical devices/Life Sciences.
